Brand Activation Video and Photography: Capturing Grenade’s Brand Takeover with Hanover Communications
One event, a library of brand content, and a run of social reels ready to post.
We recently worked with award-winning communications and PR agency Hanover Communications to capture a brand takeover for their client Grenade, the high-protein bar, shake and snack brand. Our team provided brand activation video and photography at One Stop, Packmoor – Stoke-on-Trent, then edited a series of short-form reels for Grenade to share across its social media channels.
It was a privilege to be trusted by two brands we admire, and a great example of how one well-planned event can keep working for a brand long after the day itself.
A brand takeover built for social
Brand takeovers, pop-ups and activations are designed to create a moment. They put a brand in front of people in a way that feels lively and real. Our role was to make sure that moment reached far more people than those who were there in person, through brand video and photography made for the platforms Grenade’s audience uses every day.
- Reels and short-form video. Vertical video is one of the most effective formats on social media. A handful of short edits can fill a brand’s content calendar for weeks.
- Real people and real reactions. Content filmed at a live event shows people enjoying a product. That builds trust in a way a polished advert can’t always manage.
- PR and press. Strong event photography gives PR teams the images they need for press releases, coverage and award entries.
- Paid campaigns. The best moments can be cut into paid social ads, giving a brand launch a second life with a wider audience.
- Websites and future campaigns. A library of brand video and photography means a brand isn’t starting from scratch next time.
The key to all of this is planning. Before the event, we agree shot lists, aspect ratios, formats for each platform, approval routes and delivery times. That way, on the day, the crew can focus on capturing the moments that matter.
An extension of the agency team
When we work with a PR or communications agency, we see ourselves as part of their team. Hanover knows its client, the brief and the message. Our job is to understand that quickly, fit around how they work and deliver content that’s on brand and on time, so they can focus on their client.
It’s the same approach we take on every project: understand the objective, plan carefully and make the process easy. Big results, zero drama.

Frequently asked questions
What is a brand activation video?
A brand activation video captures a live marketing event, such as a takeover, pop-up, sampling campaign or product launch. Brands use it on social media, in PR and in paid campaigns to reach people who couldn’t attend in person.
What is the difference between a brand launch video and a brand video?
A brand launch video focuses on introducing a new product, range or brand, often filmed at the launch event itself. A brand video is broader and tells the story of who a brand is and what it stands for. Content from a launch or activation can feed into both.
Can you film video and photography at the same event?
Yes. We provide combined video and photography crews, which keeps the visual style consistent, simplifies planning and gives you one point of contact.
Do you work with PR and marketing agencies?
Yes. We regularly work alongside agencies, including Hanover Communications on the Grenade brand takeover, acting as an extension of their team and delivering content for their clients.
Can you create social media reels from an event?
Yes. We plan formats and aspect ratios before the event, then edit short-form vertical reels ready for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube.
