Walking Football World Cup gets an Inspired Livestream
Inspired Film and Video has won a contract to provide live-streaming coverage of the World Cup of Walking Football from St George’s Park. The tournament runs from 24th to 26th August. There is an over 50s and over-60s tournament. Hosts England are joined by teams from across the globe, all competing in the walking football world cup. For example, teams include Saudi Arabia, Australia, South Korea, Spain, Rwanda and Canada.
The games are to be streamed onto the Recast platform. The pay-per-minute online channel is becoming an increasingly popular place to find coverage of sporting events like diving and curling. Furthermore, it hosted exclusive live coverage of Manchester City’s recent pre-season tour to Asia, just as it will be a hub for walking football and the World Cup action.
Business Development Director, Mike McDonald said, “We are thrilled to be involved with such a high-profile event with the potential for a large number of viewers from around the world. As a Staffordshire company, it’s great that this event is being held here. We have worked a lot in football over the years, and covering a World Cup is very exciting. We can’t wait to get broadcasting and share the walking football experience.”
Head of Marketing for the Walking Football Association, Ken Davies, was keen to emphasise the opportunity streaming the events gave the tournament. “ Broadcasting in a cost-effective way will enable us to build the audience of walking football like never before and, of course, enable supporters of all nations involved to watch the games.”
You can watch live coverage of 30 games over the 3 days here on the walking football feed:
