With a mission to bring art to school children Art UK wanted to create a primary school education video series with photo realist artist Sara Graham. Visiting artworks around the country to bring the magic of galleries and art to life for a young audience. The ‘Superpower of Looking’ project needed to help children both understand how to look at and enjoy art whilst also inspiring them to explore and create for themselves.
The Creative Concept
To create an effective primary school education video it is important to draw in the audience with colours, shapes, themes and materials used. Making the works more accessible and fun. When creating content for a younger audience it's always important to consider them at every stage of the process to ensure that the finished product speaks directly to them. The language and images used was all designed to demystify and spark enthusiasm.
The Results
Art UK were thrilled with the finished product and the films were streamed to schools nationwide as part of a ‘Superpower of Looking’ live event. The feedback has been amazing and everyone involved is sure that the films will be a gateway into enjoying and creating art for the children who were involved.
Inspired Film and Video worked with Art UK to produce a series of engaging films that make public art collections accessible and relatable to children. These films bring the artworks to life, helping young audiences connect with and appreciate the richness and diversity of the UK's public art collections.
