As part of our 20 Good Deeds campaign, celebrating two decades of Inspired Film & Video, we recently had the privilege of hosting Archie Chapman from Pinc College on a 60-hour work placement with our team.

This wasn’t just about giving Archie an insight into the creative industries; it was about actively creating opportunities for neurodiverse young people in our region.
Archie spent time with our creative and directing team, learning about camera operation, lighting, sound, drones, gimbals, and editing with Adobe Creative Cloud. But more than that, he became part of the team and went on to plan, shoot and direct his very own promotional video for PINC College. We simply acted as his crew.

His mentor, Beck Clewlow, shared this reflection:
“The work and insight offered by the team at Inspired has been second-to-none in my experience of mentoring students through external placements. On first arrival, Archie was met with not only extensive knowledge of film production but also a concise, considered approach – subtly catering for neurodiverse people in what can be quite a complex workplace. Archie’s scheme of learning, drawn up by Ryan and the crew, served as a brilliant springboard and reference point to expand his passion for filmmaking into new areas. He is altogether a better filmmaker because of this experience.”
And from Archie himself:
“It’s been a real insight into what it’s really like working in the film & video industry… Their support has been constant throughout. I couldn’t be more thankful for my time at Inspired.”
We’re incredibly proud of how Archie approached the challenge with professionalism, energy and real creativity. Watching his confidence grow was a privilege for all of us. This placement reflects our commitment to nurturing local talent and making the creative sector more accessible and inclusive.
